Pakistan International Airlines Corporation, better known under name Pakistan Airlines or PIA, is the flag carrier airline of Pakistan, based in Karachi. The company is the 16th largest airline company in Asia and operates flight services to 73 destinations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. The company operates domestic network linking 24 cities. Airline's main hubs are Karachi, Jinnah International Airport, Lahore and the Islamabad International Airport, the Allama Iqbal International Airport and Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The company has some secondary hubs, including Faisalabad International Airport, Peshawar International Airport, Quetta International Airport and Multan International Airport, from which it connects the metropolitan cities with the main bases, the Middle East and the Far East. Pakistan International Airlines is owned by the Government of Pakistan (87% of shares), other shareholders own 13%. The company employs 18,043 people.
