Olympic Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Greece, the company is based in Athens. The airline operates services to 35 domestic destinations and to 39 worldwide destinations . Its main base is the Athens International Airport ( main hub of the company), with other hubs at Thessaloniki International Airport and Rhodes International Airport. In 2007 the airline employed about 8,500 people. The logo of the company resembles that of the Olympic Games but the airline is named after the Twelve Olympians, the group of gods and goddesses in Greek mythology, residing in Mount Olympus. Olympic Airlines is accredited with the IOSA (IATA Operations Safety Audit) for its safety standards. Olympic's passenger traffic for in 2007 was total of 5.977.104 passengers (2.681.583 in international and 3.115.521 in domestic flights). It is estimated that the company earned 780 million euro in 2007, including 500 million euro which came from international flights.
