Continental Express Airline is a operating name brand of a number of independently owned airlines providing regional flight service for Continental Airlines. ExpressJet Holdings Inc. (ExpressJet Airlines) and Republic Airways Holdings (Chautauqua Airlines) provide service under name Continental Express. With destinations to approximately 150 locations in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, Chautauqua and ExpressJet operate all of Continental’s regional service from hubs in Newark, Houston and Cleveland. ExpressJet Airline operates a fleet of 274 Embraer-145 and 135 aircraft under the Continental Express brand name. ExpressJet Airline was at one time a fully owned subsidiary in control of Continental Airlines. That time Continental Express had turbo-prop aircraft such as ATR-42/72, EMB-120 Brasilia and Beech 1900. Thees days Continental Airlines contracts with other airlines: Gulfstream International, CommutAir and Colgan Air to operate prop planes as Continental Connection on regional routes. Continental Express airlines uses the Continental hubs: Ohio's Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, Houston, Texas's George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Newark, New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport. Some other companies such as Trans-Colorado Airlines had used the Continental Express brand name.
